I am honored to join Appen as the Chief Technology Officer and excited to introduce myself to all of you. For years, I have been following Appen as one of the leading companies in the AI space. After working with some of the best companies in the industry, it’s a privilege to have the opportunity to drive innovation and technology for Appen and our clients.
I have spent most of my career building cutting-edge products, working at Upwork, Amazon, Microsoft, and Intel on some of their most innovative technology. I have also been a customer of Appen while leading the Alexa artificial intelligence team at Amazon. So, I know firsthand the incredible work that Appen does, and I am excited to be a part of it.
With so much rapid innovation happening in AI, I’m eager to bring my firsthand client perspective to Appen. I have personal knowledge of how the client uses the platform, and how we can best position Appen to continue to be the leader in this space.
AI is an exciting field, and we are just scratching the surface of what it can do. Businesses that leverage the power of AI to build innovative customer experiences will be the winners. At Appen, my mission is to innovate wisely, be customer-obsessed, establish operational efficiency, and scale up the platform to be leveraged as services across multiple market segments.
I believe in creating a culture of diversity, inclusion, and accountability. I strive for transparency where we all bring our best to the table, and every idea from anyone can be a good idea. Learning about Appen’s first Hackathon last month, where nearly 200 employees participated throughout the company, was inspiring. It’s the perfect example of the learn-it-all culture I’m looking forward to contributing to.
I’ve spent many years working on AI for good and I am energized by the work Appen is already doing in this space. It’s a passion of mine to ensure AI applications work ethically, accurately, and without bias. I look forward to continuing this work as Appen strives to Do Good, Be Good, and Lead Good.
As a part of my due diligence in learning about Appen, I spoke with business leaders and technologists across top companies. I wasn’t surprised to learn they’re all trying to figure out how to leverage advances in AI technology. They know that data is the secret sauce to building world-class AI applications, and data is Appen’s superpower.
I am genuinely looking forward to joining Appen in its journey to be the intelligent backbone that powers the emergence of generative AI solutions for the industry and for the good of humanity. Let’s work together to build something truly remarkable.
